When guests click the Add to calendar button, the event is added to their calendar. In addition to the date and time, the calendar entry also contains the location of the event. This allows guests to easily navigate to the correct place later directly from their calendar.
This is especially useful on the day of the event. Many guests first check their calendar and open the route from there.

Open the location from the calendar
In almost all calendar apps the location is clickable. When guests tap or click it, a map app such as Google Maps or Apple Maps opens automatically. Navigation then starts directly to the event location.
This allows guests to quickly find the route without opening the invitation again.
Many guests first open their calendar on the day of the event. Make sure the location is entered correctly so navigation from the calendar works immediately.
Link to the online invitation
The calendar entry also contains a link to the online invitation. This allows guests to return to the invitation page from their calendar to view the program, RSVP or the Guestbook.
The online invitation always remains the place with the most up-to-date information.
The calendar feature uses a so-called .ics file. This is a standard format that almost all calendar apps support. The file contains the date, time, location and link to the event so calendars can add it automatically.
