When guests add an event from an online invitation to their calendar, the time is automatically adjusted to their own time zone. This ensures that every guest sees exactly when the event takes place, regardless of where they are located.
This works because the calendar information from the invitation is stored in a standard calendar file. Calendar apps recognize the time zone and automatically display the correct local time.

How guests see the correct time
When a guest clicks Add to calendar, the event is added to their calendar. The calendar app then automatically calculates the correct time for that location.
For example, if an event starts at 14:00 in the Netherlands, a guest in New York will automatically see the local time in their calendar. This helps prevent confusion about time zones.
The calendar feature uses a so-called .ics file. This is a standard format supported by almost all calendar apps. The file contains the date, time, location, and link to the event so calendars can add it automatically.
