When guests add an event from an online invitation to their calendar, a link to the invitation is automatically stored in the calendar entry. This allows guests to return to the online invitation with a single click and review all details again.
This is useful because information in the invitation may still change. For example, the program might be updated, an extra instruction added, or new directions provided.
How guests use the link
In the guest’s calendar, the event appears with the name, date, time and location. The event description also contains the link to the online invitation.

By clicking the link, the online invitation opens immediately. Guests will always see the most up-to-date information.
If important details change, send guests a short message with the invitation link so they know where to find the latest information.
What if details change later?
It may happen that you change something after sending the online invitation. For example, an updated program, additional information, or a small change in the schedule. In that case, it is often enough to send guests a short message asking them to check the online invitation again.
Because the invitation is published on a webpage, guests will always see the most recent information there.
Only when the date, time or location changes is an additional step required. Guests then need to add the event again using the Add to calendar button so the new information is stored correctly in their calendar.
The calendar feature uses a so-called .ics file. This is a standard format supported by almost all calendar apps. The file contains the date, time, location and link to the event so calendars can add it automatically.
