The Directions button in an online invitation is especially useful on a mobile phone. Guests can easily open the invitation while on their way and start navigation directly to the event location.
With a single tap, the phone automatically opens a map app such as Google Maps or Apple Maps, and the route becomes immediately available.
Start directions from the invitation
When guests open the online invitation on their phone, they will see several buttons at the bottom such as RSVP, Add to calendar, Directions and Guestbook. By tapping Directions, a selection window appears with available navigation apps.
Guests can then choose which app they want to use to navigate to the event.
Navigate directly to the location
After a guest selects a navigation app, it automatically opens with the event address as the destination. The route is then calculated from the guest’s current location.
This makes it easy to start the correct route just before leaving or while already on the way.
Check the route beforehand
As an organizer, it is wise to test the route after entering the location. Open the invitation on your phone and click the Directions button. This allows you to see exactly what your guests will experience.
