The link does not open for guests

Sometimes a guest reports that the invitation link does not open. In most cases this is not caused by the invitation itself, but by the device, app, or browser used to open the link.

The checklist below usually helps solve the issue quickly.

1. Check if the link was copied completely

A common cause is that the link was not copied completely or that an extra space was accidentally included. Ask the guest to open the link again or copy the link once more and send it again.

2. Open the link in a browser

Some apps open links in a built-in viewer that does not always work well. Ask the guest to open the link in a regular browser such as:

  • Safari
  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Edge

Often it helps to copy the link and paste it directly into the browser.

3. Check the device

Ask the guest to try opening the link on another device. For example, first on a phone and then on a computer or tablet. This quickly shows whether the issue is related to the device.

4. Check the app where the link appears

Ask the guest to copy the link and paste it into a browser instead of clicking it. Sometimes a link does not work properly inside a specific app, such as a chat app or email program.

5. Ask the guest to reload the page

In some cases it helps to reload the page or restart the browser. This often resolves temporary network or cache issues.

6. Test the link yourself

Open the invitation link on your own phone or computer as well. This allows you to check whether the link works correctly. If the link opens for you, the issue is usually related to the guest’s device or app.
