You can also share an invitation via Instagram. This works especially well when you want to reach a larger audience or when guests follow your account.

For Instagram feed posts, a square image usually works best. This format fits well with the way posts are displayed in the feed.

Why use a square format?

Instagram often displays posts in the feed as square previews. When you use a square image, the entire design remains visible without parts of the image being cropped.

For Instagram feed posts, it is therefore best to use a square image so the full invitation design remains visible in the feed.

How to share an invitation on Instagram

Instagram does not allow clickable links in regular feed posts. That means sharing usually happens in two steps: posting an image and mentioning the link separately.

  1. Upload the square image of your invitation to Instagram.
  2. Write a short accompanying caption.
  3. Refer to the invitation link in your bio or profile.
Because links in regular Instagram posts are not clickable, it is best to place the link to your invitation in your bio or profile. In your post, refer to the “link in bio” so guests know where to open the full invitation.

Keep the caption short

In an Instagram post, a short and clear caption is usually most effective. The image draws attention, while the caption briefly explains what the invitation is for.

For example:

You are invited!
See all details via the link in bio.

Be mindful when sharing on social media

When you share an invitation on social media such as Instagram, Facebook, or similar platforms, it is important to consider the privacy settings of your post.

A public post can be viewed, shared, or forwarded by anyone. As a result, the invitation link may spread further than intended.

Always check that your post is visible to the intended audience. For private events, it is often better to share the invitation directly via WhatsApp, email, or a private group.
