You can also share an invitation through Instagram Stories. This is a quick way to let guests or followers know that an event is coming up.

For Stories, a vertical image works best. This format fills the entire screen of a phone.

Use the correct story format

Instagram Stories use a vertical image format. For that reason, a story-sized image of the invitation works best for sharing. In this format the invitation remains readable and uses the full screen.

For Instagram Stories, use a vertical image in story format. This allows the invitation to fill the entire screen while keeping the most important information clearly visible.

How to share an invitation in Stories

Posting an invitation in a Story usually takes just a few steps.

  1. Open Instagram.
  2. Choose to create a new Story.
  3. Select the story image of your invitation.
  4. Optionally add a short text or sticker.
  5. Publish the Story.

Add the link

In Stories you can add a link using a link sticker. This allows viewers to open the invitation directly. Paste the link to your invitation into the sticker and place it somewhere clearly visible in the Story.

Keep the message short

Stories are usually viewed quickly. A short announcement therefore works best.

For example:

You are invited!
View the invitation via the link.

Consider privacy on social media

If you share an invitation via platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, or other social networks, it is wise to check the privacy settings of your post.

If a post is public, anyone may be able to see it and the invitation link can easily be forwarded.

Always check who can see your post. If the event is private, it is often safer to share the invitation directly via WhatsApp, email, or a private group.
