Share via WhatsApp with an image

Besides the link to your invitation, you can also include an image in your WhatsApp message. This can be helpful when you want your message to stand out or when you want guests to get a first impression of the invitation.

When you save an invitation, several social media images are automatically created. You can use these in WhatsApp, iMessage, or other messaging apps.

When an image is useful

An image can help an invitation attract more attention in a chat. In a busy group chat, a visual message often stands out more than a message with only text and a link.

This can work well for example with:

  • party invitations
  • large group chats
  • events where you want to immediately show the atmosphere

The image already shows part of the invitation design.

Always include the link

The image mainly serves as a visual announcement. The full invitation is always behind the link.

Therefore it is important to always send the image together with the invitation link. This allows guests to open all event details immediately.

An example WhatsApp message could look like this:

You are warmly invited.
View all details here:
[link to invitation]

You can then add the invitation image below the message.

Use an image to make your invitation stand out visually, but always include the link. Guests can only open the full invitation through the link.

Which image should you use?

The generated social media images are designed to work well in messaging apps. They have a format that appears clear and sharp on phones.

You can choose for example:

  • a square image
  • a horizontal image
  • a vertical image

Which one works best often depends on how your message appears in the chat.

Test the message first

Want to see how the message looks for your guests? Send it to yourself or a friend first. This allows you to check how the image and the link appear in WhatsApp.
