When creating an online invitation you can of course write your own texts. Sometimes people also want to use an existing poem, song lyric or a text written by someone else. In that case it is important to consider copyright.
Texts are usually automatically protected by copyright. This means that the author decides if and how the text may be used.
More information about content usage and rights within Eventinfo.pro can be found in the terms and conditions.
Using your own texts
Texts that you write yourself can be used in your invitation without restrictions. You are the author and therefore own the rights to the text.
This includes for example:
- a personal invitation message
- a description of the event
- a poem you have written yourself
Using texts written by others
If you want to use a text written by someone else, you must check whether this is allowed. In many cases a text may not be copied without permission.
This applies for example to:
- poems written by well-known poets
- song lyrics
- texts from books or articles
- texts from other websites
If you want to use these texts, you will usually need permission from the author or from the organization that manages the rights.
If you are unsure whether you may use a text, it is safer to write your own text or use a poem that you know can be used freely.
Short quotations
In some cases a short quotation may be used, for example when the source is clearly mentioned. Keep in mind that copyright may still apply and that not every text can simply be reused.
European copyright rules
Copyright protection in Europe is regulated through European legislation. More information can be found on the page about European copyright legislation.
